chasys draw ies - sorely miss grid lines (ie gimp, filters, render, pattern grid). used for freehand drawing!
Hi,
This feature will be available in the next version. I'll start working on it ASAP.
Slovak
Hi,
I'm afraid I do not write the translation files myself; however, anyone is free to write a translation file for any language and I'll gladly host it for download. If you're willing to and have the time, perhaps you could write the first Slovak translation file and share it with the user community. Follow the link below for instructions:
http://www.jpchacha.com/chasysdraw/help.php?file=tech_sdk_language.htm
You may use one of the existing language files as a template to start with:

The only issue I have with your outstanding product(which I use all the time), is it automatically opens with drawing tool tips and complex pointer turned on. Im forced to turn them off every time. Saving my settings from my last use would be nice. Thanks for a great app!
Hi, I've been unable to reproduce the problem; which version are you using? Kindly reply via support@jpchacha.com.

hi, just to let you know that this works in Linux, via WINE (https://www.winehq.org) version: wine-1.7.2
Thanks!!
The liquify effect is only somewhat what I was asking for, though it could be easily expanded to a very useful tool and not just an effect. The liquify effect is a warping tool, but it is not precise.
With the ability to grab and drag grid points to control the warping effect, I can level objects within layers in relation to each other, specially shape images such as text, or provide realistic spatial effects in image editing or combining. These powerful effects are almost impossible using a brush, or even region type point systems.
For example, say I wish to add text to a photo with a flat top and a perfectly curved bottom. I can use the circle text function to create the arc, but it may be too circular for my needs, and controlling the warp of the top to flatten the text has to be extremely precise to prevent the text from looking amateur and cartoonish. With the grid, I would use snap to grid and drag the corresponding points straight up until all of the letters were on a flat plain. I could then turn off the snap to grid feature and carefully adjust the bottom grid points to get the exact curve necessary.
I think too many people underestimate the usefulness and power of the warp tool and tend to think of it as more of a toy, when it is actually a powerful drawing and editing tool for someone that knows how to use it. I thought of trying to make such a warping tool as an 8bf plugin. However, a person needs to see more than the affected layer when applying the warp, in most cases, to get the desired effect right, so sending the handle to a single layer would be ineffective.
What would be great is a specific distortion tool, a grid-based digital image warping tool that creates a point based grid structure for a layer, and dragging a point on the grid pulls or pushes the pixels an equal amount. This type of tool allows for the creation of caricatures from a photo, or even extremely useful photo manipulation to get almost impossible to achieve localized effects otherwise.
If you want to know more about what I am talking about, the codeproject has an article and some c++ source-code for a rendering engine. Just Google "grid-based digital image warping", and the second result should be the codeproject article.
That's the Liquify effect. It's under Menu > Effects > Distortion > Liquify (Image Warping)
sharpen edges filter in sharpen catagory
This can be achieved using the normal sharpen effect by only selecting the "alpha" option.
chasysDraw : drawing and painting tools are already good, now its time to expand animation features. I ask for [Xsheet] and [timeline]A feature / interface, both are for animation.
Hi,
Something similar to Timeline is now in "work in progress" status.
I like your programs but will you be incorporating 3D file viewing support in the future. I have a massive library of 3D content and a viewer program sounds a lot less memory intensive than a full blown application for this task.
I would love it if ChasysDraw could open and work with my A0 300dpi images. At the moment it can't.
Done. However, please note that at 140 mega-pixels per layer, you'll be working very close to the limits of 32-bit Windows.

wish for more intensive animation features
Hi,
I'm working on something that I think you'll like.
Hi Sir John,
I wish you will strengthen the animation feature on Chasys Draw.
Frames, Timeline and layers features similar to adobe flash will be veeeery goood if implemented in next release of Chasys Draw.
And tons of thanks for this superb software.
Torif

Hi Torif,
Something similar to Timeline is now in "work in progress" status.
Hello from Russia, John! First, I'd like to thank you for your software. It's really nice.
As for wish, I'd like an improved grid snapping. I don't know, may be this feature is already included, but I don't see any snapping for brushes and path's control points...
Hi,
Thanks, glad to know you like it. I've made the necessary changes, snap-to-grid will now affect all tools.
ability to correct converging verticals & etc in imaged
hi chassys, my acer laptop runs on vista starter, i wonder if my machine is capable of doing the cd labeling online? thanks!also i wish that chassys draw ies can run fully and greatly even on some old machine
Hi,
Chasys Draw IES will run fine on Vista Starter. As for the CD Labelling, it should work okay as long as you have a LightScribe-capable CD/DVD burner and you've installed the LightScribe System Software.
On old machines -- I put a lot of effort into optimizing Chasys Draw IES so that it runs as efficiently as possible; additionally, I always try to make each new version run a bit faster than its predecessor on existing hardware. As long as you keep it up to date, Chasys Draw IES will give you reasonable performance even if your computer is a bit old.
An Tutorial for text on path. Cannot configure how it works.
Not a wish, just a huge THANK YOU for asking CNET not to pack it as part of their installer. I REFUSE to use that site, and any others that rebundle software with extra, malware, spyware, crapware, irritatingware and x@*%^$-ware. Sadly it's becoming a bad habit of major file repositories.
Again, thanks you very much. Well done!!!!!!!

I forgot one tool I would like to see.
10. An eraser with a configurable 'blend edge to transparent' and 'Blend to background' feature.
The blend to transparent eraser would be used to detect color, blend, and then soften a configurable amount of pixels from the edge to transparency. It would help a lot with merging multiple cut-out photo elements into a realistic whole.
The blend to background would do the same thing, except that instead of softening to transparent, it would soften the color to the background color, no matter what the background color currently is as it probably will change in a photo from region to region.
Hi,
I've implemented something similar as the Edge Treatment Tool; please try it out and tell me what you think.
Chasys Draw IES: I would like to see a few tools.
1. A gradient fill tool.
2. An 'Open Project' option at startup.
3. Clickable Foreground/Background blocks on color palette.
4. An 'Actual Size' feature under 'view' that will show the layer at it's true size in relation to the screen.
5. A 'Merge' button on the layer window to speed up the process dramatically.
6. User modifiable, dockable ribbon bar(s) for tools and functions used constantly.
7. Tooltips that, when turned off, they stay off when Chasys Draw next loaded.
8. A 'Reset' to factory settings button for the palette.
Now, for the hard one...
9. The ability to load and use GIMP plugins.
Notes so far... Chasys Draw IES is the most powerful and useful free Drawing software available. Yes, I have used GIMP and Paint.net, but am not that impressed with either. In comparison to Photoshop, Chasys Draw IES is the most powerful free option.
1. ** This exists as the Full-page Gradients Tool.
2. ** Noted, will consider adding this.
3. ?? What should they do when clicked?
4. ** Will be available in the next version, for both the main window and the preview window.
5. ** Noted, will consider adding this.
6. ** The current user interface doesn't support this, but I'll keep this in mind.
7. ** Will be available in the next version.
8. ** This exists as the Load Default button (button with circular arrow).
9. ** That's a tough one. However, it has been on my "to do" list for a while now and I'll continue working on it.

Hi,

Hi, I use a CAD program and it has some extremely useful facilities, parallel lines, lines at set angles etc.
Have you any plans to include CAD-like tools?
I'm afraid not, Chasys Draw IES is intended to be an image editor, so CAD features are not on the roadmap
more shadow options: to left, to up...
extrude figures as 3d
gradients for a determined area, not just for the entire layer
many autoshapes,as stars with 3-6 pointers, arrows...
posibility to insert copied text from msword for example
different size/character/color of text in the same layer
posibility to resize layers dragging the margins/corners
thank tou very much, it is anyway a very good program
[shadows/extrude/gradient] -- will see what I can do
[stars] -- this features exists, you can do 3-1024 points, use "level" setting
[copied text] -- this features exists
[different text in same layer] -- will see what I can do
[resize layers by dragging] -- feature exists, use "resize" tool
I would really prefer to be able to change the default from pixels to inches in Chasys Draw IES.
In the new image dialog or elsewhere? Kindly clarify via email, the address is support@jpchacha.com.
I have been looking for a program and almost found it in yours, Chasys Draw, the only thing that I wished it had was the option to email the altered graphic to another person so they can see the results and may have a suggestion/improvement and can email it back to you or even just be able to email/upload to someone or place. For me, that would make it just perfect, but by all means it in it's present state is about perfect compared to other offerings I have seen so far.

Hi,
Two feature wishes for Chasys Draw -
A Watermark Feature.
B While resizing an image, Chasys draw has some default size presets. I would like to be able to save custom size presets and have them show up along with the default size presets. I could then make a Facebook front cover graphic and apply a custom Facebook resize preset to the image as an example.
Keep up the good work.
Hi,
(A) I'll see what I can do to make this easier, but not that you can currently add watermarks using layer transparency and blending modes.
(B) I'm working on this, the feature will be available in the next version.
Hello!! I'd like to try suggesting something novel. How about pushing a little harder on the basic video editing and play back capabilities. I'm talking basic things like video sequencing, copy, and paste. You already have...
1.Video Screen Capture
2.Video cropping, optimization and rate conversion
I'd like to see the IES viewer capable of displaying video and at any point go back into the editor and tinker a bit(nothing major: on the scale of Movie maker). I feel it would fit into your commitment to
Character: No photoshop imitations here.
Performance: Fast, efficient and stable.
Innovation: New techniques and out-of-the-box thinking.
It would also give you a little breathing room to toy with other aspects of the tool and further differentiate it from others.
Side note: Do you ever go to the computing/programming/artist area of nairaland.com? It's suppose to be a Nigerian site but there are Africans from all over there(African American myself) You can find some good talent to converse with and let folks know about your tool especially the folks in the art section. I try to mention your tool when I can I love it.
Thanks and Good luck!!
Does Chasys Draw IES have blur capability
Yes:
1) Smoother/Solvent tool (shortcut = "S"); 4 options
2) Effects > Blur, 7 options
Thanks for supporting WebP file format.
The sun is shining from morning to the evening.
Please add a slider into Drop Shadow.
Thank you so much
You're welcome. Looking into it.
The tool of magic wand is only include RGB,don't include alpha.
It would be a powerful addition if you could add a feature of Duplicate Image Finder and Removal providing image batch selection and prioritization based not only Date, Size, Name ... but maybe some means to select images by what I see as 'content'. See Duplicate Photo Finder. I currently use Picasa (under Tools, Experimental, Duplicate. REQUEST - If anyone is aware and uses a a duplicate finder please post here Thanks.
I love this program. It beat my Corel and Adobe programs. It loads fast and paints smoother then Gimp or Photoshop. Most of my question have already been answered here but I would like a suggestion on tutorials and books on Chasys Draw IES Artist.
Chasys Draw IES Artist - how about a working program. I have tried multiple times to create an image of text letters and each time entry into the text box ends up (Not Responding) and close the program. I have done the same thing enough times, expecting a different result that I could now consider myself insane!
Kindly send me your email address so that we can troubleshoot.
Hi, I just started using Chasys draw IES. There is a feature I use in photoshop called "Levels" that I use all the time that I would like to see in Chasys Draw. Levels lets you play with the histogram, and crucially, there are dropper buttons that let you select "black" and "white" in the image to give clues to the software about how to do white balance. The fact that this feature is missing is a big reason I still need to use photoshop. I would like to use Chasys Draw because it loads so fast and is simpler.
Both features are available in Chasys Draw IES. Levels is available via the menu under "Adjustments", while white/black point selection is available via the Dynamics Tool.
I work on large orthophotos. Could you add support for working on an image the size of 1/2 Gigabyte?
Could you please tell me whether you have portable version of the Chasys Draw IES or planning to introduce soon the Chasys Draw IES in portable format.
Nik Collection by Google support
Hi,
Use the "Photoshop 8BF for IES" plugin to load Nik Collection and other Photoshop-compatible plug-ins.
My Canon t4i CR2 pictures are not been recognized. When I used the converter feature they all looked black.
Hi,
Are you encountering the same problem with Chasys Draw IES rawPhoto? RAW photos should be processed in rawPhoto; converter cannot read RAW.
Please get in touch with me via email at support@jpchacha.com.
Chasys Draw IES:
Hi, John. Thanks because you've created greatgreat program. It is easier than Photoshop but I would like to you insert Text Outline & Layer Style just like in Photoshop. Thanks.
Chasys Draw IES - I would LOVE to see not only an easier way to change the opacity of a layer, but also that the new layers are the same size (and area,) of the original layer. L-O-V-E the program, and those are really the only two "complaints" I have.
Hi,
An easier way to adjust opacity is ready for release; it will be available in the next version.
Chasys Draw IES raw-Photo: Please add support for Canon EOS 6D (.cr2 file type).
Thanks!
Hi,
Consider it done.
a nice feature would be not to use CNET to download. it is the most confusing, spam filled site out there. I have been working half hour now trying to down load a simple june 2013 update to Draw. Do you mind doing your own downloads? This is just frustrating for older, sick people. kfboulier@gmail.com
Hi,
I'll try to offer more download options in the future. Thanks.
For Chasys Draw IES Artist is there a way to close the current project without closing the whole programme, cant find a "close" button anywhere, usually under "file" somewhere. I am possible missing something.
Thanks
Hi,
There's no "close" button because one would not make sense in the context of Chasys Draw IES -- each workspace is opened in a new window, and you don't need to close the current workspace to open/start a new one.
Hope there is a way to use tablet pressure to control the opacity of brush tool.Thanks.
Just an idea JP In an early version of Paint shop Pro (?6) there used to be a button with a question mark, which you could drag over an item on the tool bar and bring up a context sensitive help screen. Would this aid newer users to learn the package?
Just a thought
Hi,
Context-sensitive help is available in Chasys Draw IES. All dialog boxes (effects, transforms, etc) have the help button you have described. Pressing F1 on the keyboard when drawing brings up the help page for the tool you're currently using.
