Hi,
I am impressed by your Software, it is speedy and super responsive Thank you for your hardwork, i would like to see Some tools like LIQUIFY, & Paint SYMMETRY in Chasys image editor
Hi,
Liquify exists: Effects >> Distort >> Liquify (image warping)
Chasys Draw IES: WIN OS 10 Lenovo Yoga P40
Can we please have an option to display the toolbox, palette, layers, etc. LARGER/BIGGER? My screen resolution is high, and so all these important boxes (and contents) are really, really tiny on my 15" touch screen!
I like all the canvas space, but I'm getting older and the tools are getting harder to see. If we had two or three size choices for the dockers it would be awesome! :D
PS: Your software has better touch screen/pen response than AI!
Hi,
Thank you for choosing Chasys Draw IES. I'll see what I can do about the sizes of the windows and the buttons on them. Thank you!
tools for dotted lines would be a great improvement
Noted. Let me see what I can do.
Disregard the proposed solution to wish #309, as I had a better (and much simpler) idea of how to accomplish the task, each only requiring two special brushes. Brush 1 will adopt part of selection from one layer (grass from the background layer) and apply it on colored sections of the next layer, but with no painting on transparent pixels. Brush two would do the same thing, but only paint on transparent pixels.
Grass could be painted on the forward section of the lions paws, and the other brush could paint the grass directly behind the paws at the right height, allowing the frames to be then positioned and merged like normal to look natural.
This should actually be somewhat simple and quite a powerful toolset.
Hi,
That functionality already exists -- the "below" mode of the cloning brush. When you pass it over the lion's feet, it will copy grass pixels from the layer below. To ensure that transparent pixels are not affected, enable the "Alpha Protect" option for the lion layer.
The ability to insert a frame partially into another frame would be nice. Let me explain; Imagine having a background photo of a home with a large yard on frame 1. You load a picture of a lion in the zoo in frame 2 and cut out the lion. You want to insert the lion into the picture of the yard.
PROMBLEM: If you simply merge the two photos, then with any inspection, the lion will appear to be floating on the tips of the grass in the yard.
SOLUTION: Resize layer 2 to fit the picture of the lion. Put 'slits' in Layer one and then slide layer two to where the lions four feet can go behind the grass a little, then merge the two layers.
I guess this involves two separate things: 1. Being able to make slits in a layer -- 2. Having a function that will resize and reshape a layer to fit a complex image. It could also be done with a selected image, but it would be impossible to tell where to put the slits without being able to move the layer over the background layer and marking the background first, before applying the slits.
I know it is probably asking a lot.
See response to #310 above.
Chasys Draw, latest version; Windows 7 64-bit.
How about an installer/program that actually works under 64-bit Windows 7? I have tried to install the program under Win7/64, no luck. I then installed the program in a 32-bit VirtualBox Windows VM and back-copied the portable version to my main machine. However, it is impossible to get this to run.
Hi,
The installer should work perfectly on Windows 7 64-bit; that's one of the platforms I use for testing. If it won't run on your machine, we need to investigate and find the root case. Kindly contact me via support@jpchacha.com for further assistance.
Hi Paul,
My operating System is Win7 64 Bit 8 GB RAM, Internet Explorer 11.
Thanks for Draw Ies Artist ver. 4.38.04 .
I have also installed the latest German language file
31 March 2016
ver. 4.38.04
Markus Hauser
Markus is doing a very good job and I am very much in favour with his translation.
But I do not get rid of this message box popping up each time I start Chasys Draw IES.
You may select English or German language ... it pops up.
The only way I found to avoid this box, is to disconnect from the Internet, while using Draw IES.
Thank you for your help in advance
Klaus
Hi Klaus,
Thanks for reporting this. Which dialog is that; the "New Message" dialog? Kindly email me a screenshot via support@jpchacha.com. Thanks.
Website: Please make your text frames a percentage of the available screen instead of fixed width. It is very difficult to read because the fixed frame width causes a horizontal scroll bar to come up at the bottom of frames in order to read the full width. this scroll bar is often well below the bottom of the screen. Not all of us have the pixel width needed for your site. This makes the site mobile functional as well. This is the same on Edge, Internet Explorer, and Chrome.
A native 64-bit app would be amazing!
Bonjour Jean Paul,
It would be very lovely, if your program could open PDF files.
Best wishes
Hannah
Wishes for Artist
- Save in PSD and XCF with layers
- Single window
Hi,
Item #1 (Save in PSD and XCF with layers) is coming very soon!
With the explosion of interest in adult coloring books, how about including a way to convert photos into coloring book pages
Hi there! Great program and I'd ask if in Transforms may be added feature for (seamless) pattern creation?
Best regards:
Veselina
Hi Veselina,
That feature already exists: Effects > Image > Make Tile.
Hello John Paul,
I also have a wish: How about, if the measuring tool would also have the option of showing mm oder cm, instead of only pixels?
I, for one, would find that very useful.
Best regards
Hannah
Good idea ... I'll add that.
Another thought that would make photographers happy... Automated (scripted) watermark and/or copyright text that's also capable in batch. So if you have 60 photos you select where you want your watermark/text (bottom left/right etc) and the system will process it in batch for each photo that's open in Chasys.
Done
Hi, I LOVE chasys draw! It's my favorite program to use and I'm really impressed with all the features. There may be an option for symmetry already but if so I can't locate it. I have an application on my kindle that allows you to draw anything around a horizontal or vertical symmetrical line and reproduces it. I'd love to see that on chasys. Thank you for a great program!
Hey, I just downloaded the new version and it seems the program has improved loads since the last time I used it.
Some versions before, there were many things not working (at least on my computer - XP, 1.8 GHz, 1GB RAM - as mentioned in another comment below).
But the latest version seems to work very nicely for me. It now has a status, that I will proably make Chasys Draw my default drawing software.
Nice work!
Just two things: I still can´t fill spaces in my picture with colour (I will send you an email with the image I used) and I´d like to know:
Is there a way, that I can make a text field larger? Because I entered some text into the "Composition for print" -> "Enter text here"-field and the text was so long that it exceeded the field space.
I tried to figure out how to change the size of the text field according to the text length, but failed.
And a wish: Could you maybe put some tooltips into the text-editing window? That would be a great help.
Kind regards
Hannah Czerny
Hi Hannah,
Thank you for giving Chasys Draw IES a try. I've sent you a copy of this information, with screenshots, via email.
Fill picture with color:
If I understood you correctly, what you're trying to do is to fill the background of the picture with another color without affecting the text. To do that, you have the following options:
(1) Use "Effects Brush | Colorize Toon". Run this over the image to apply the new color.
(2) Create a new layer, fill that with a plain color then set its blending mode to Multiply:
The "Fill" tool cannot be used in this particular case because the background isn't uniform.
Resizing the text layer:
There are several ways of resizing the text layer:
(1) Click the auto-size button in the text-art dialog box to resize the box to fit the text
(2) Right-click the text layer and select resize
Tool-tips:
Noted; I'll add them in the next version, which is due for release soon.
Best Regards,
John Paul Chacha.
Hi Paul!
I have encountered some litte errors while updating the german language file for version 4.32.01. Thank you very much for your really good work with Chasys Draw IES!
Here are my findings:
Main Workspace:
- Tool Box on the right where it says "width" and "level": Click then drag, use mouse-wheel; and Click then drag, use mouse-wheel, -> When you mouse over the texts have ; and ,
Menu:
- Image -> Properties... won't translate into german
- Auto Update Failed (when there is no internet connection) -> won't translate into german (Translations are already in new German language file)
All the best,
Markus
Hi Markus,
I'm afraid I've not been able to reproduce the ToolBox error you've described. Does it only occur when the language file is in use? If so, please send me the language file in question to aid in troubleshooting.
I'll look into the two other issues then get back to you. Thanks.
mode symmetry for brush
whatever. Your software very good
rate: 7/10
Thank you! Kindly elaborate on the symmetry mode you're referring to; you can do so by emailing me at support@jpchacha.com. Thanks.
is it possible to make stacked photography as in astrophotography is used - making some macro that will enable automaic processing of stacked files (not just a few, but as in astrophotography - a tousend of them).
Jadranko
PS. Your softwer is awsome!
Hi Jadranko,
Processing very deep stacks with thousands of images is currently not supported because Chasys Draw IES works with images in RAM, as opposed to astrophotography packages which operate on the images directly from disk. That distinction exists because Chasys Draw IES allows you to edit the individual frames (drawing, effects, etc.) which means that they must be in RAM; therefore, you can only load so many. Dedicated astrophotography packages need not edit anything other than the stacking parameters and the stacked image itself, which means that they can stack thousands of images without being restricted by available RAM because they'll just load them one by one as stacking progresses.
In conclusion, then, we can say that such a feature can only be availed by building a separate stacking application that can be used for stacks deeper than what Artist can handle. The "on-disk" operation mode of such an application will greatly reduce flexibility, of course, but it's possible and I'll consider it. Thanks.
